Dates from 11962, it was built during the mayoral service off Manuel sola Rodríguez-Bolivar. The construction supposed the destruction of the theatre “Gran Capitán”, the “Palacio de los Luque” and the old building of “Correos”. At the back of the square, it was built a huge building for the Spanish bank Santander. IT was a shock in the arquitecture of Gran Via, and to paliate it, the sculpture of Isabel la Catolica and Cristobal Columbus was moved there.
